Idris Elba Will Feature In Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty
CD Projekt RED released a new trailer from the upcoming expansion to Cyberpunk 2077, revealing a new cast of characters that you will meet for the first time in Night City, including a character played by Idris Elba.
Phantom Liberty is the one and only post-launch expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, and CD Projekt RED tries to make it as big as possible. Previously, the developer confirmed that the new story will take place in a brand-new district of Night City, following a spy-thriller that will involve V and Johnny Silverhand once again. After Keanu Reeves, Idris Elba is the next big name to star in Cyberpunk 2077 as one of the in-game characters. It’s yet to be seen who is Elba’s character in the game and whether V is going to cooperate with him or see him as the major antagonist.
Unfortunately, the new trailer for Phantom Liberty didn’t reveal an exact release date, still sticking to the 2023 launch window. Previously, it was announced by CD Projekt RED that this post-launch expansion will only be available on PC and current-gen consoles, skipping PS4 and Xbox One due to low hardware capabilities. As such, we can expect a better-optimized experience with Phantom Liberty, unlike the game’s rough launch back in 2020.
While Phantom Liberty will be a farewell to Night City, for now, CD Projekt RED has confirmed that a new title from this franchise is under development with the codename of Project Orion. No further details have been shared on this project for now, and you shouldn’t expect an announcement anytime soon, as the next big title from the Polish developer will be a new game from The Witcher franchise, which is powered by Unreal Engine 5.
If you have not played Cyberpunk 2077 so far, CD Projekt RED will release a Game of the Year edition of this title after the launch of Phantom Liberty, which includes the base game as well as its story-driven expansion. This will probably be a better chance for you to get the complete package of the game and experience all the stories in a single run.
