8 Takemichi Confronts His Bully For The First Time

In the early episodes of season 1, we see Takemichi facing off against Kiyomasa. It’s not the most epic battle or anything, but it’s an important moment that shows Takemichi’s bravery in standing up to the bullies who made his and the lives of his Mizo Middle Five friends miserable.

Takemichi kept receiving blows from Kiyomasa, but this time around, things were different – he had a chance to alter his fate. The fight raged on without a clear winner until Mikey and Draken swooped in to teach Kiyomasa a lesson for ruining Toman’s reputation.

7 Osanai Vs. Mikey & Pah

In Episodes 6-7 of Season 1, Toman was discussing their beef with the Moebius gang. Pah was convinced that a clash with Moebius was inevitable after they attacked one of his friends and their girlfriend. Takemichi knew Pah would end up in jail for stabbing Moebius’s leader, Osanai. Thus, he tried to stop the fight, but Pah refused to cooperate.

He kicked Takemichi in his guts and punched him several times until Moebius showed up. Osanai beat Pah up good and even broke his nose, causing him to fall unconscious. Mikey eventually finished off Osanai with a kick. However, Pah snuck up behind Osanai and stabbed him with a broken bottle which ended up splitting Toman in that timeline.

6 Kisaki Kills His Hero

After the brutal Halloween battle, Mikey promoted Hanma to the captain of the sixth division. Takemichi was deeply anxious about what this meant for Toman’s future. When he returned to the present day, he found himself no longer working in the bookshop but as one of Toman’s executive managers. The founders were missing, and Kisaki had taken over as the new boss.

After a group dinner, Kisaki summoned Takemichi and his aide Chifuyu to a private meeting. He shot Chifuyu and then turned the gun on Takemichi. In a surprising turn of events, Kisaki called Takemichi his hero, making for one of the most emotional moments in Tokyo Revengers, as even the antagonist acknowledged Takemichi’s value.

5 Kazutora Vs. Mikey

Kazutora is one of the founding members who helped establish the Tokyo Manji. Originally, Baji, Pah, Draken, Mitsuya, and Mikey formed the gang to protect Kazutora from the Black Dragons. However, things took a turn for the worse when Kazutora mistakenly killed Mikey’s older brother and developed a deep-seated animosity towards him.

The final showdown between Mikey and Kazutora was a defining moment that brought both redemption and tragedy. Kazutora called Mikey at the top of a pile of cars. But, in a moment of rage, he remembered the day he was blamed for Shinichiro’s death and impulsively stabbed Baji. Meanwhile, Mikey arrived at the spot and kicked Kazutora unconscious.

4 Mizo Middle Five Protects Draken

As Takemichi fought valiantly, the other members of the Mizo Middle Five watched from the sidelines until they suddenly remembered his words of encouragement: “If we’re going to be delinquents, we gotta take up our fists.” With newfound courage, they passed a knife to Takemichi and bravely stepped forward to face Kiyomasa’s followers, allowing Hina, Draken, and others to escape.

3 The Fight On The Christmas Eve

Taiju and Takemichi exchanging punches at the church

On Christmas eve, Takemichi and Chifuyu tracked down Hakkai and Taiju at the Church. But just as they tried to stop the conflict, Kisaki and Hanma nabbed Chifuyu, leaving Takemichi to deal with Taiju alone. Meanwhile, Mitsuya showed up on the scene and tried to take on Taiju in a one-on-one bout. Inui then made a sneaky move and sucker-punched Mitsuya’s head from behind, knocking him to the floor.

On the other side of the fray, Takemichi grabbed Hakkai’s blade and convinced him to back down from his murderous intentions. Takemichi traded punches with Taiju, despite Chifuyu’s pleas for him to stop. Finally, Hakkai confronted Taiju bare-fisted, tired of always being protected by Yuzuha. Everyone lay bruised and breathless on the ground when Mikey arrived and dealt the finishing blow to Taiju with his invisible kick.

Hanma, though, was able to block it, making him one of the few people who could do so. The battle between Toman and Moebius raged on in the rain. Eventually, Hanma had to retreat when it seemed like Toman was gaining the upper hand. 8/3 was one of the most brutal fights in the entire anime, where everyone’s life was on the line.

1 Bloody Halloween: Toman Vs. Valhalla

Valhalla gang outnumbered Toman in total member count

Perhaps, there’s been no bigger fight than Bloody Halloween. With only 100 members, Toman seemed to be at a disadvantage against the Valhalla gang, which had over 300 delinquents. And such numbers were weakening the Toman’s morale. He may have looked ridiculous, running around the battlefield swinging his weak arms with swollen eyes.

That moment, though, turned the tide of the battle. Other Toman members were inspired to reflect on themselves and join the fight to take down Valhalla. In the end, Toman emerged victorious, with Mikey finally bringing down Kazutora.
