3 ‘Neighbours’ storylines that need to end asap

0

‘Neighbours’ has a lot going on right now and with such a large cast of characters, some storylines are getting overshadowed by others.

Since the show returned in September 2023, viewers have had a lot of great stuff to sink their teeth into. The introduction of Krista Sinclair (Majella Davis), who was thought to be dead, has been a real bonus for the show and we’ve had to say a heartbreaking goodbye to fan favourite David Tanaka (Takaya Honda).

For every great storyline though, there have been some that are testing the patience of even the most loyal viewers. We’ve selected three storylines that are being dragged out for too long that we want to end asap!

1. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out Chelsea!

When Chelsea Murphy (Viva Bianca) first joined the show we took an instant dislike to her. After she wormed her way into Paul Robinson’s (Stefan Dennis) life, we liked her even less. Now that she’s responsible for Krista losing her baby and (potentially) getting her addicted to drugs again, we’re ready for Chelsea to pack her bags and leave. We’re hopeful that Krista is about to take Chelsea down though so the storyline must be coming to an end soon right?

2. Can we have the old Haz back?

Possibly the worst storyline since the show came back is Haz’s (Shiv Palekar) transition from loveable nice guy to secret hacker with a dodgy past. Does anyone really buy this storyline? Was it thrown in simply to cause problems with Mack (Georgie Stone)? The more this storyline continues, the less we believe it and it’s frustrating because we loved Haz to begin with. Now he’s become one of the most irritating characters on the show and frankly, we have no idea how he’s going to come back from this storyline.

3. Teenage angst or total character reinvention?

Oh JJ Varga-Murphy (Riley Bryant)! Of all the kids on the show, JJ had the most promise (and Riley Bryant is the strongest of the child actors) but this angsty rule-breaking JJ we’re seeing right now is a million miles away from the one we warmed to the past few months. Finding out that Felix Rodwell (James Beaufort) is his father, and subsequently almost killing Andrew (Lloyd Will) while helping Felix rob the construction site has sent JJ off the rails. Unfortunately the writers also appear to have turned JJ into a completely different character. We’re ready to move on from the angst and get back to the JJ who respected his family, and showed plenty of promise.

‘Neighbours’ airs Monday to Thursday on Amazon Freevee.
