James Cameron truly was the “king of the world” when his ultimate passion project, Titanic, earned him Academy Awards for Best Picture and Best Director and, at the time, became the highest grossing film ever. The ambitious, romantic, and breathtakingly realistic dramatization of one of history’s most shocking tragedies remains a seminal pop culture landmark, partially for making A-listers out of future Oscar winners Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.
The Titanic cast also features the likes of Billy Zane, Victor Garber, Kathy Bates, to name a few, giving some of the most acclaimed performances of their careers. Unfortunately, some members of the ensemble — namely Bill Paxton and Gloria Stuart — have passed away since the release of the film 25 years ago.
