12 most popular Pals in Palworld

Palworld has 137 Pals at present, a bit less than the 151 generation one of Pokémon had. With that in mind, we scoured the internet to get a feel for what everyone’s favorite Pals might be, and some clear favorites have to have emerged among the lot. Here are the 12 most popular Pals in Palworld.

The 12 favorite Pals in Palworld

While we’re going in reverse order, some of these were ties, so one Pal being below another doesn’t necessarily mean they had fewer votes. With that in mind, these were the twelve winners:

12. Maraith

I haven’t encountered this spooky, ominous, ghostly will-o-the-wisp creature myself, but given it has the same color scheme as the best Pokémon of all time, I can understand the appeal. While the lime green eyes don’t match the color scheme as well as that yellow, there’s also something very eerie and unsettling about such a bright color on a dark palette. It’s like Maraith is staring right into your soul.

11. Kingpaca

This is not one I expected, but it’s hard to deny the appeal of an absolute unit Alpaca with a face like that. Something about the goofy trident crown with the grumpy face and neck fluff makes the design memorable in how powerful but silly it is. It’s kind of a nightmare to catch, but well worth the trouble.

10. Quivern

This one has an appeal that’s easy to see. I wish I had one of these in my game — and in real life. Look at this fluffy, big soft dragon! What is there not to love about a big soft fluffy white dragon?! I want it to pick me up and give me the biggest, softest hug.

9. Anubis

This Pal feels specifically designed for the Lucario fans in the audience, but I’m not going to lie. It’s a much nicer design on the Egyptian god than its Pokémon counterpart. The color scheme makes the design feel powerful. I’m a fan of the flowing cape hair in particular.

8. Dumud

Sobble and Clodsire, the two Pokémon this Pal looks like a perfect fusion of, are both fan favorites, so it’s no wonder this Pal is popular. It captures the same goofy, blob-like feeling those Pokémon are favored for. Who doesn’t want a big goofy mudfish to be their friend?

7. Gumoss

Speaking of blob appeal, Gumoss has this phenomenon down perfectly. A slime acorn seedling is a cute original idea, helped by the simple bead eyes and tongue poking out at all times. Gumoss is here for the Goomy fans in particular, but who can deny this squishy, eco-friendly blob?

6. Foxsparks

Something about the cute little literal fire fox seems to captivate players. Perhaps it’s the fact people generally gravitate to foxes in creature games, or perhaps it’s that it looks like another Fire-type Eevelution. Or maybe it’s just plain damn cute to watch curl into a ball and fall asleep. Whatever the case, the community has deemed this fox a friend.

5. Depresso

It’s very easy to see why this one is so high on the list. This slacking cat is the most relatable of the entire catalog. I cackled out loud on a voice call when I first encountered one. It’s hard to get past that dead-eyed expression that looks like it just woke up and wants to call it a day. Us too, Depresso. Us too.

4. Tombat

This Pal looks like it got lost looking for the anime it was cast to be the villain’s pet sidekick in. That being said, the magician-y-looking flair to its design certainly gives it a lot of personality. It’s hard not to have an impression made on you when this thing comes for you in the dead of night in the game.

3. Daedream

When looking at its cute, devious smirk and beautiful starry flowing mane, it’s easy to understand why Palworld’s take on the dream sheep has this much appeal. This little guy looks like it might be plotting to prank you in your sleep, but you can’t resist giving it a pat on the head anyway. Plus, having one out all the time if you make a collar helps Daedream seem like a Pal for life.

2. Dinoblossom

I didn’t expect Dinoblossom to be this high up, but it seems everyone really likes the flower dinosaur. Given it looks like a very nice fusion of Goodra, Lilligant, and Meganium, I can see why everyone is endeared by this dinosaur. All three of those Pokémon are certified big friends, and Dinoblossom has the aura of a giant friend who will be with you to the end.

1. Chillet

This most popular pick I don’t expect to surprise anyone. What is there to not like about this adorable water ferret that’s also a dragon ferret? Watching it skitter about the world, especially after you put a saddle on it and ride it, it’s hard to ever go back to walking. I know I instantly wanted one after I failed to catch the boss, but Eggs had me covered on that. The votes are in: water ferrets have taken over.

Those are the 12 most popular Pals so far in Palworld, but these rankings are very subject to change. Once everyone has seen and experienced all 137 pals, will Chillet and the rest keep their spots, or will new fan favorites emerge?
