Eldlich is a very popular trap deck in the current meta in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel. There are a few different variants of it, but all of them follow the same strategy, which is to pretty much not let your opponent play the game the way they want.

Its very aggressive playstyle revolves around Eldlich, a level 10 Zombie that just keeps coming back and the use of oppressive traps such as Skill Drain, Solemn Judgement, Solemn Strike, and even Rivalry of Warlords depending on which variant of the deck you are playing.

Everything in this deck is about Eldlich. You can send it along with one spell or trap from your hand to the graveyard to target one card on the field and send it to the graveyard. If Eldlich is in your graveyard, you can send one spell or trap your control to the graveyard and add this card to your hand. Then you can special summon one Zombie monster from your hand, and if you do, until the end of the turn, it gains 1000 ATK and DEF plus it cannot be destroyed by card effects.

Drytron is another meta deck that’s very strong currently due to Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel ban list. If you follow the TCG then you should know that Cyber Angel Benten is a Limited card. But not in this version of the game. Here, you can run 3 copies of it in your deck. This is a very consistent deck that offers a lot of options, and it also has the potential to OTK. The ability to recycle Benten while you’re adding fairies from your deck that can be used as fodder for your Herald of Protection makes this super safe. Of course, there are different variants of this meta deck, but this is what you will run most of the time.

This deck somehow made it through the current ban list, and it’s more than viable. Some would argue that this is a tier 0 deck, and honestly, I can see why. If you are going first with the Adamancipator meta deck, your chances of winning the duel are very, very high. Of course, that doesn’t mean that this deck can’t go up against pretty much anything in the current meta. It focuses on Adamancipator tuners and their ability to run through a deck by sending the top 5 cards to the graveyard and special summon any level 4 or lower rock monsters they excavate. Combine that with the Prank-Kids engine and cards like Gigantes, Ash Blossom, Maxx ‘C’, and you have a recipe for a super-strong deck.

4

  • 1x Virtual World Phenix – Fanfan

Virtual World isn’t exactly the type of deck that you would describe as beginner-friendly. It can be very strong but, at the same time, very confusing even for veteran duelists.

So first thing’s first, almost every card of this archetype does the same thing. What’s that? Virtual World monsters can be special summoned from the hand and mill your deck. How do they do that? By sending another Virtual World card you control to the graveyard first, and then sending another Virtual World card of a different type, from your deck to the graveyard.

Because Virtual Worlds can easily make level 9 Synchros such as the powerful Virtual World Kyubi – Shenshen, that gives this deck easy access to a very, very strong card. True King of All Calamities, which requires 2x level 9 monsters. This card doesn’t let your opponent play the game, pretty much. How’s that for a strategy?

Of course, there are various combos and different strategies that you can add up to this, and there are many variants of Virtual World meta deck going around.

5

Tri-Brigade Zoodiac deck

  • 2x Nibiru, the Primal Being
  • 3x Pot of Desires
  • 3x Tri-Brigade Fraktall
  • 3x Tri-Brigade Nervall

  • 1x Zoodiac Boarbow
  • 1x Zoodiac Chakanine

All of these Master Duel meta decks in the list, are obviously very popular among players in the higher rankings. With that being said, this one might currently be the most popular in the game. It’s not only super consistent, but also fairly easy to play. All you need to start your combos is really Fraktal or Tenki. Once you have Fraktall, you send Kitt to the graveyard, you activate its effect to then send Nerval to the graveyard. Then you get Fraktall back, you normal summon, activate its effect, ban Kitt and Nerval for a link summon. If you have a Zoodiac in your hand, you can get into your XYZ monsters from there. A lot of potential and a fun deck to play.
