Yaoyao is a support character in Genshin Impact. She wields the power of Dendro and uses polearms as her weapon. Given that she can proc Dendro reactions and heal teammates, she’s got quite a versatile kit. Still, you’ll want to give her the right equipment. Best weapons for Yaoyao
Due to her versatility, several armaments can be considered as the best weapons for Yaoyao in Genshin Impact. Likewise, it’s worth considering that Yaoyao’s rabbits/radishes deal damage based on her ATK, whereas healing is based on her max HP, and reactions are based on EM.
- Staff of Homa (crit damage) – You already get a huge chunk of HP by default, so this helps with healing. Moreover, you receive additional ATK based on your max HP. The biggest downside here is that this is a 5-star weapon, and is better for top-tier characters, not for support.
- Dragon’s Bane (EM) – Damage is increased against opponents affected by Hydro or Pyro. It’s nice for Bloom comps, but terrible for Quicken/Aggravate.
- Kitain Cross Spear (EM) – A pretty good free-to-play option that increases elemental skill damage (and you’ll often cast Yaoyao’s skill for off-field applications). She does lose a bit of energy, but it’s regained via the weapon’s perk, as well as Yaoyao’s C2.
- Missive Windspear (EM) – Also a free-to-play option, this polearm grants extra ATK and EM after an elemental reaction is triggered (which implies constant uptime for a character like Yaoyao). However, it’s from the Of Ballads and Brews event (tough luck if you missed out on it).
- Moonpiercer (EM) – This weapon’s blueprint comes from Aravinay, an NPC near the Tree of Dreams in Vanarana. After triggering a Dendro-based reaction, a leaf is spawned, and picking it up provides extra ATK.
- Black Tassel (HP%) – This might be one of the best weapons for Yaoyao in Genshin Impact, at least from a pure support/healer standpoint, thanks to a ton of extra HP%.
- Favonius Lance (energy recharge) – This is another choice for support builds since it lets Yaoyao regenerate energy more consistently. You probably won’t have too much of a problem, though, if she’s at C2 or you have another Dendro teammate.
Best artifacts for Yaoyao
The best artifacts for Yaoyao in Genshin Impact depend entirely on her role:
- Deepwood Memories – Used to increase Dendro damage and lower enemy Dendro resistance; ideal if Yaoyao is the only Dendro character in your squad.
- 2-piece – +15% Dendro damage.
- 4-piece – Decreases the opponent’s Dendro resistance by 30% for eight seconds after they’re hit by an elemental skill or burst; can be triggered even if the equipping character is not on the field.
- Tenacity of the Millelith – Additional HP and extra party-wide ATK/shield strength. Pick this if Yaoyao will primarily heal and you don’t have decent Deepwood Memories rolls.
- 2-piece – +20% HP.
- 4-piece – When an elemental skill hits an opponent, all party members gain +20% ATK and 30% shield strength.
Artifact stats:
- Pure support/healer = HP% / HP% / HP% or healing bonus.
- Support + Quicken -> Aggravate/Spread = ATK% / Dendro damage / Crit.
- Sub-stats = HP% for healing; crit damage/crit rate/ATK for support DPS; EM for Bloom.
