0

Things are about to get really extreme this weekend as WWE’s next Premium Live Event is none other than Extreme Rules. However, unlike previous WWE events sharing this name, every match booked for the October 8 show has a wild gimmick. Here is all the info you need in order to check this PLE out.

The WWE 2022 event is taking place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As of this writing, there are six matches on the card, and unlike previous Extreme Rules shows, every match on this card will have a special gimmick.

Two of the matches on the card are for championships: the Raw and Smackdown Women’s Championships. The Bloodline has a lock on the men’s main event and tag titles, so don’t expect them to defend them this time around. Check out the start times for your neck of the woods below.

Start time:

  • 5 PM PT
  • 7 PM CT
  • 8 PM ET
  • 11 PM BST
  • 9 AM AEDT (October 9)

Keep in mind there will be a Kickoff Show on the WWE Network, YouTube, and Twitter one hour prior to the main card times listed above. More recently, WWE has reverted to airing a match on the preshow again, so make sure you tune in.

How to watch:

If you’re pumped for Extreme Rules in the US, but don’t know how to watch, don’t worry. We have you covered. You can buy it through your satellite or cable provider, or watch it on the Peacock streaming service. And although Peacock does have a free tier, you will not be able to watch the WWE event through that. You’ll need a Premium ($5 a month, with ads) or Premium Plus Peacock ($10 a month, no ads) account. Regardless of which tier you choose, there will be a few WWE-related ads throughout the show.

There are multiple ways to watch Peacock . Aside from watching it on mobile devices and a PC, you can stream the service on Amazon Fire devices, Android TV, Apple TV, LG Smart TVs, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Roku, Samsung Smart TVs, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xfinity, and more.

For those abroad watching the PPV, you still get to watch it on the WWE Network, you lucky ducks.

Match card:

Below, you’ll find the match card for Extreme Rules, along with the stipulations for each match. What’s great is that every match has a different gimmick attached to it–although you could argue the Smackdown Women’s Championship and Six-Man Tag matches are both Extreme Rules bouts. If any more matches are booked, they’ll be added to the card below.

  • Liv Morgan (c) vs. Ronda Rousey (Extreme Rules Match for the Smackdown Women’s Championship)
  • Bianca Belair (c) vs. Bayley (Ladder Match for the Raw Women’s Championship)
  • Matt Riddle vs. Seth Rollins (Fight Pit with Special Guest Referee Daniel Cormier)
  • Drew McIntyre vs. Karrion Kross (Strap Match)
  • Edge vs. Finn Bálor (“I Quit” Match)
  • The Brawling Brutes vs. Imperium (Six-Man Tag Team Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook Match)

Predictions:

If you’re looking for armchair QBs to yell about the winners and losers of each match, then you’ve come to the right place. GameSpot’s wrestling podcast Wrestle Buddies has a special Extreme Rules predictions episode. Do hosts Chris E. Hayner and Mat Elfring thinking Seth Rollins will beat Matt Riddle in the Fight Pit–which Rollins has no experience in? What in the hell is a “Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook Match?” How quickly will Bianca Belair vs. Bayley become a 3-on-1 bout? You can learn all these answers on the podcast below.

Make sure to come back to GameSpot on Saturday, October 8 for live coverage and a review of Extreme Rules.
