Will Armored Core 6 have a photo mode?

Photo modes have become a rather popular feature among players, with many modern games including one either at launch or post-release. Whether it’s a linear game or fully open-world, a photo mode can really allow players to explore their creativity and gain a deeper appreciation for the game world. Interestingly, however, FromSoftware’s games usually don’t include photo modes, not even Elden Ring with its striking open-world vistas. With Armored Core 6, the newest FromSoftware title, arriving in just one day, however, fans of the developer might wonder if it has finally made an exception with this game and included a photo mode.

Can you take photos in Armored Core 6?

Fortunately, FromSoftware did indeed confirm a few days ago that Armored Core 6 will give players a photo mode to mess around with. The feature was revealed in a “Special Briefing” live stream that aired on the official Japanese PlayStation account on YouTube. You can view the archived stream below and skip to 46:24 to see the game’s photo mode in action.

Of course, the gameplay footage displays all of the text in Japanese, so the exact features of the photo mode might remain unclear unless you know the language. Even so, it seems safe to assume that the sliders shown on-screen pertain to brightness settings, at least judging by the sun-shaped icon on the menu tab. In general, players can expect Armored Core 6’s photo mode to include the usual options, including filters and the ability to hide the UI.

The mech battles in Armored Core 6 look incredibly good overall, so those who love to find the perfect shot will certainly want to make heavy use of the game’s photo mode. And considering how skilled the visual artists at FromSoftware are, it would definitely please a lot of fans if the studio decided to incorporate a photo mode into more of its games in the future.
