Upgrading the Power Suit is necessary for some foes, as landing hits can be a real challenge without the proper gear. Set in the perspective of inside the Power Suit itself, the game really gives players an idea of what things are like from Samus’ point of view. The Varia Suit in particular helps with high-heat situations. The Power Suit cannot withstand some of the hot temperatures present in areas of Tallon VI. The Varia Suit can withstand this heat though. The Varia Suit is best used in fiery hot levels, rooms, and areas.

Obtaining The Varia Suit

The Varia Suit can be unlocked in the Sunchamber. To get to the Sunchamber, traverse to the Arboretum room. The Sunchamber is located in the middle of the Chozo Ruins area, the Aboretum is located right next to it after the Sunchamber Lobby and Access rooms. The Sunchamber is a big circular room, similar looking to an arena. Be wary of the Reaper Vines through the leading rooms to the chamber, as they come out of the walls and attack. They may also be on the ground of the halls as you traverse through. These can be shot to clear the path ahead. Reaper Vines will also be somewhat present in the Watery Hall room.

The Unlockable Exit in the Sunchamber Metroid Prime Remastered

Once reaching the Sunchamber, the Flaahgra will appear from the petals in the middle of the room. This is a boss, a plant creature who is foreshadowed by the reaper vines. The Flaaghra boss fight in particular requires the Morph Ball Upgrade and Morph Ball Bombs to complete and access the Sunchamber in general. Once the Flaaghra has been defeated, there will be an explosion of the wall of the Sunchamber. This will reveal a new door and the Varia Suit Upgrade. Collect the Varia Suit by walking up to it and touching it.

With the Varia Suit Upgrade, Samus Aran can now traverse through areas with hot temperatures. There is also a 10% damage reduction while the Varia Suit is active. Areas like Magma Pool and Monitor Tunnel can now be accessed. There are several areas where the Varia Suit is required. Samus Aran has the Varia Suit at the start of Metroid Prime Remastered, yet loses it after the prologue. It is mostly used in Magmoor Caverns, where two Chozo Artifacts are lying. The Varia Suit, along with other suit upgrades, changes the appearance of the Power Suit to some degree. The Varia Suit has spiky round shoulder pads and a new chest plate along with some other small physical changes, such as changes in the shapes of some of the metal plates.
