Gerudo town can be found just southwest of the Gerudo Tower.

  • The first thing you will need to do is progress far enough in the main story to unlock the Divine Beast Vah Naboris quest. This quest will take you to the Gerudo Desert, which is located in the southwestern part of the map.
  • Once you have unlocked the Divine Beast Vah Naboris quest, make your way to the Gerudo Desert. You can either fast travel to the desert or travel there on foot.
  • Once you have arrived in the Gerudo Desert, look for a large sandstorm in the center of the region. You will need to enter the sandstorm in order to reach Gerudo Town.
  • To enter the sandstorm, you will need to equip clothing that provides heat resistance. Without this protection, you will take damage from the heat as you travel through the sandstorm, requiring you to come stocked with quite a bit of food to counteract the damage.
  • Once you are properly equipped, enter the sandstorm and follow the path through the desert. You will need to navigate through the sandstorm using your map and compass to find your way to Gerudo Town.
  • As you progress through the sandstorm, you may encounter enemy mobs and other obstacles. Be prepared to defend yourself and use your abilities to overcome these challenges.
  • Eventually, you will reach Gerudo Town. Look for the large gates leading into the town and enter to complete your journey.

First and foremost, make sure you have completed the main quest for Divine Beast Vah Naboris. This will unlock the Thunder Helm side quest and allow you to begin the process of obtaining it.

Once you have completed the main quest, head to Gerudo Town and speak with Riju in her palace. She will provide you with the Thunder Helm side quest, which consists of four different quests that must be completed in order to obtain the helmet.

  1. The first of these quests is “Tools of the Trade,” which requires you to gather materials for Riju’s personal bodyguard, Buliara. You can find the materials by searching the Gerudo Desert and completing the mini-games offered by the Gerudo traders.
  2. The second quest is “Medicinal Molduga,” which tasks you with finding Molduga guts to cure Malena’s husband’s illness. To find Molduga guts, you will need to defeat Molduga monsters in the Gerudo Desert.
  3. The third quest is “The Mystery Polluter,” which involves investigating the source of pollution in the Gerudo Canyon Stable. To complete this quest, you will need to speak with the stable’s NPCs and gather clues about the source of the pollution.
  4. The final quest is “The Search for Barta,” which tasks you with finding Barta, a Gerudo woman who has gone missing. You can find Barta by speaking with NPCs in Gerudo Town and searching the Gerudo Desert.

Once you have completed all four quests, return to Riju in her mansion to receive the Thunder Helm. Make sure to equip it in your armor slots to take advantage of its lightning resistance and ability to call down thunder.

To start the “Tools of the Trade” quest, you will need to first visit Gerudo Town and speak to Liana, a NPC who can be found in the central area of the town. Liana will tell you that her husband’s tool kit has been stolen, and she will ask you to help her retrieve it. Agree to help her, and she will give you a hint about where to find the thief.

The thief can be found in the bazaar, which is located in the northeastern part of Gerudo Town. Make your way to the bazaar and look for a woman standing next to a large fruit stand.

Speak to the woman, and she will tell you that she saw the thief run off into the desert. She will also give you a piece of fruit, known as a durian, which you will need to give to the thief as a bribe in order to retrieve the tool kit.

Leave Gerudo Town and make your way to the desert, following the path that leads southeast from the town. You will eventually come across a small camp in the desert, where you will find the thief. Approach the thief and give him the durian. He will accept the bribe and give you the tool kit in return.

Return to Gerudo Town and speak to Liana to complete the quest. She will reward you with a silver rupee for your efforts.
