The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom allows Link to explore a Hyrule that has a lot in common with the version previously seen in Breath of the Wild. It’s the same Hyrule, and yet not. Some things have moved around a bit. A few elements are missing but replaced by a grander vision. Still, most of the important markers are there. This guide tells you where to find the Shrine of Resurrection in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom – where to find the Shrine of Resurrection

When Link first woke during the opening moments of Breath of the Wild, he found himself in a cave known as the Shrine of Resurrection. It was a memorable moment. Returning players miss being able to step foot in that cave. Fortunately, they don’t have to miss it for long because the shrine is still available to visit.

To find the Shrine of Resurrection, look near the Temple of Time. That’s where it appeared in the first game, too. But at the time, that environment was high in the sky. These days, it’s more grounded.

Your search for the Shrine of Resurrection will take you to Great Plateau area, which is southeast from Outskirt Stable. It is also northwest of Lake Hylia. If you have already activated Riogok Shrine, you can fast travel to it to reach the plateau’s northwestern side. Then you can head east. However, you’ll have to pass Gloom Hands if you do.

When you reach the Great Plateau, look for the large hill that overlooks the Temple of Time Ruins. Those ruins are easy to spot from most directions, with their tall spires.

Just up the slope and along the hills to its northwest, you should find the Shrine of Resurrection’s entrance. You may have to pass through an area where you briefly need armor or items to provide Cold Resistance. I didn’t bother changing my gear, though, and I was out of the danger area before long and without losing any life. The map screenshot above shows the Shrine of Resurrection’s precise position on the world map.

When you step inside the cave, you are informed you’ve discovered the Shrine of Resurrection. You’ll spot a Bubbulfrog, plainly visible not far from the entrance. Take it out to claim your Bubbul Gem. Keep advancing into the cave, past the restorative pools of water. You’ll reach a hole where you can descend to find a Yiga hideout. Grab the Mighty Bananas from the pedestal to trigger a battle with three of them.

The Yiga teleport around the area, mostly attacking with arrows. You can tell where they should materialize next. Beat them to that spot, then slash them as they appear. Pick up any Arrows they fire that miss, to replenish your supply. When you defeat all three of them, talk to the nearby Construct. It rewards you with the Beam Cycle schematic. That’s a profitable visit!

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available on the Nintendo Switch.
