Halberds usually scale on either your strength or dexterity. They offer long reach and are light enough to keep your character moving quickly. While you may switch out weapons a few times through a play-through, it’s important to lock down an excellent early-game weapon that will help you make it to the later areas of the game.

The Lucerne is located among some of the destroyed carts to the right side of the path. With the sheer volume of enemies, it’s easy to move around initially unseen and destroy the carts out of the way of the fighting. There are other valuable items scattered around the battlefield, further incentivizing you to defeat all enemies present. This is also a prime spot to farm runes early on, as many enemies will kill each other rewarding you with runes. After destroying the carts, you’ll find the Lucerne among their wreckages.

How To Use The Lucerne

Lucerne Menu Description

The Lucerne requires 15 strength and 12 dexterity to use. Despite the higher strength requirement, this weapon eventually scales higher from your dexterity, reaching a ‘B’ at some of its upper levels. This level of scaling is semi-rare in the game’s early sections, making the Lucerne an excellent option for dexterity builds who also want to keep a bit of distance while fighting. Halberd weapons are great for dexterity-oriented builds, as their lighter weight and reach will help you fight from a safe distance and quickly reposition yourself if needed.

This weapon does pierce damage and comes with the skill Charge Forth. This skill costs 16 FP to cast and can quickly close the gap between you and enemies further back. This skill is a great fight-starting ability and further benefits from a dexterity build that can back up after the initial attack. This weapon can also be infused with other Ashes of War to switch up its versatility to match your build better.
