Where To Find The Boost Ball

On Metroid Prime Remastered’s far planet of Tallon VI, alien and robotic beasts come together and create an aggressive mix to fight through. Samus Aran must use the Power Suit to fight through the world and make it out alive. The Power Suit is the most helpful tool in the game, and it wouldn’t be possible without it. There are several upgrades that make the Power Suit more powerful and easier to win against giant foes.

Upgrades like the Morph Ball make the Power Suit transform for different situations. To get faster in the Morph Ball, the Boost Ball Upgrade can help. Charging up with immense power, the Boost Ball Upgrade can launch Samus through passageways and rooms with ease. This can be useful for getting around enemies, bosses, and projectiles. Specifically, the Flaaghra boss fight is easily beaten using the Boost Ball.

Getting The Boost Ball

The area to collect the Boost Ball is in Phendrana Drifts. Go to Phendrana Drifts and reach the Phendrana Canyon, at one of the ends of the Phendrana Drift section. There will be a canyon, as the name insinuates, and a platform on the other side. The other side of the platform has the Boost Ball Upgrade to collect. The Canyon has several platforms above it, all with various heights.

A Sign in Phendrana Canyon Metroid Prime Remastered

Upon entering the Phendrana Canyon, look to the right side of the Canyon, against the rocky wall. There will be a sign sitting on a post. Scan this post and the six platforms will readjust to be almost in line with one another in a short cutscene. This allows Samus Aran to go to and from Phendrana Canyon as she pleases. Hop across the six platforms until reaching the other side and collect the Boost Ball Upgrade. A short cutscene will commence with a text prompt and text explanation to confirm that the Boost Ball has been collected. This is a useful upgrade for navigating areas and is necessary to access some rooms and navigate some worlds. The Morph Ball Upgrade is required to use and collect the Boost Ball Upgrade.

The Boost Ball Upgrade can launch the Morph Ball a great distance in a short amount of time. It charges up using the B button and can be let go to launch Samus forward. This can be used in half-pipes throughout the game to reach higher altitudes. The Boost Ball Upgrade will also hurt enemies when boosting into them, which can be useful for damaging enemies and then fleeing to avoid being hurt. Not all enemies can be hurt with the Boost Ball Upgrade, so using it against everything in sight is a bad idea. Two bosses can be damaged using the Boost Ball, which is the first and twelfth boss. Spider Ball Tracks will also be accessible with the Boost Ball and are the primary reason for collecting the upgrade. Note that using a Morph Ball Bomb while on a Spider Ball Track will cause Samus to fall off the Spider Ball Track momentarily.
