Through some of the dragons in the game, we learn that they can wield incantations, such as lightning abilities — which we eventually can use ourselves. One of these abilities is the Frozen Lightning Spear ability. This incantation makes frozen bolts of lightning rain down in front of the caster and is a great AOE incantation for fighting some of the many groups of enemies you’ll face in the Lands Between.

Where To Find Frozen Lightning Spear

Frozen Lightning Spear is dropped by Dragonkin Soldier Of Nokestella in the underground section of the map. Start from the Nokstella Waterfall Basin site of grace. Head down and into the cave towards the east. Make your way through the cave until you enter the boss room, and the battle begins. This boss is able to do lightning damage along with frostbite status effects, as it will also be using the incantation you are here to find.

This boss does take extra damage when hit in the head, making ranged attacks your best bet since its head will oftentimes be out of reach. Whenever it does use Frozen Lightning Spear, dodge left or right, as the attack will hit multiple times in a cone heading away from the boss. It is recommended to bring an incantation or item that will alleviate frostbite buildup, as many of its frostbite attacks have wide areas of effect and may not always be properly dodged. Getting a frostbite effect will also hurt your stamina recovery, making you an easier target to hit and this fight more tedious. This boss will then drop Frozen Lightning Spear upon being defeated.

Frozen Lightning Spear requires 34 faith to memorize and will cost 29 FP to cast. Despite its blue appearance, this spell will still do regular lightning damage but will also provide an additional frostbite stats effect. This incantation will make many lightning bolts fall from the sky in a small cone in front of the caster, with each bolt doing its own damage and causing its own status buildup.

This spell is an excellent option against larger enemies or bosses you’re trying to inflict frostbite on. The damage is decent, but getting caught in the cone will have many bolts hit the target, and frostbite will oftentimes follow. Larger enemies will be hit by more individual bolts and receive the maximum amount of damage this spell can output. The area of effect is decent and is good for close clusters of weaker enemies.
