Destiny 2 is nearing another year’s end of content, and one that will conclude with the final season of Lightfall’s expansion, Season of the Wish. One aspect that has fans stoked this season is the return of the winter event, The Dawning.
This event happens exclusively in the Winter season, and it’s usually held around the middle of December, right before the holiday season. That gives players ample time to sink their teeth into all it’s juicy content while they take some time off from work or school.
This year is no exception, as with the release of Season of The Wish, Bungie has announced the return of The Dawning event, which will be released on December 12.
Eva Levante will be this year’s host for the event. While Bungie hasn’t shared much regarding the contents of The Dawning this year, they have shared that players will “bake delicious treats to hand out to the Vanguard and other beloved characters for cozy winter celebrations.”

As for how long The Dawning event is going to take place, we can speculate that it’ll run around the same length as years past, so around January 3, 2024, players should expect the event to conclude.
We aren’t too sure about what kind of rewards Bungie will have up for grabs at this year’s event, but based on last year, we can expect some new weapons, ships, and cosmetic items.
It’s quite the time to be a Destiny 2 player, especially thanks to the return of one of the fan base’s favorite events.
