Eiichiro Oda said the One Piece live-action show wouldn’t launch on Netflix until he’s “satisfied,” and the show now has a release date. It will air on the streaming service on August 31, 2023. It was part of the Netflix TUDUM events. This is an event during which the company reveals a number of different new shows and new seasons for existing properties. Also, in addition to the release date, a new trailer appeared showing off major cast members.
Here’s the One Piece live-action release date trailer Netflix shared on June 17, 2023. It begins with Luffy stating his dream to a captured Zoro. He then says he needs a crew and he thinks they’d make a good team. We then see additional members like Nami, Sanji, and Usopp. Buggy appears during the latest clip as well. At the 1:08 mark, we get to see the live-action version of Luffy’s Gum-Gum Pistol attack.
