When you start building your base, the game is going to introduce technology structures that you can build. Technology is the game’s name for devices that perform a certain action, such as a crafting table, or a furnace. And one of these pieces of technology, the Crusher, requires a Pal with Water Work Sustainability. Furthermore, when you build the Crusher it will have a message on it saying “Required Watering.”

A Pal with Water Work Sustainability is, basically, any Water-type Pal. Some of the earliest water Pals you can get your hands on are guys like Pengullet and Teafant. Once you have a watering Pal, head to your Palbox and assign them to your base. Then you’ll want to start using your Crusher for resources like Palladium Fragments. Once you start the process your watering Pal will start pumping gallons of water into the device.

However, if you aren’t using the Crusher or other items requiring water, you don’t need to have your Pal assigned to your base. Players should keep this in mind when starting out, since your slots for base Pals are limited. That being said, you can use your water Pals for other purposes such as watering berry plantations.
