What are Soft Objectives in Ready or Not

You can play the game as you want, but some secrets are waiting for you to discover. Here is what Soft Objectives are in Ready or Not.

Ready or Not: Soft Objectives, explained

Just like there are main missions and side missions in almost every game nowadays, objectives in Ready or Not can fall into similar categories. Main Objectives are the bare minimum amount of actions, reports, and findings you must complete to successfully finish a mission. And while speedrunners will completely focus on the main objectives in a “Non-S Rank Speedrun” or something similar, Soft Objectives will act as completely optional tasks you can do during missions. Most of them are finding secondary objects or even NPCs to report.

Now, don’t disregard the Soft Objectives due to its “optional” tag. There are actually two main reasons why you wouldn’t want to skip these Soft Objectives. First of all, completing Soft Objectives will impact the overage Ranking score you get once you complete the mission. It is like any game: completing the main missions will reward you with a completion percentage. More likely than not, that number will not be 100%. That’s where side missions, and in this case, Soft Objectives enter the equation. Securing an S-Rank in each mission will have you explore and report even the smallest and apparently innocent pieces of equipment, objects, and the occasional body lying around.

Second of all, Soft Objectives will be the fix for all of those lore-hungry gamers out there. This applies to me as well. You see, playing Ready or Not while focusing on securing every single Soft Objective will not only grant you a score bonus, but will also grant you some exposition that will make you better understand the mission setting, background, and even some twists that you will have to report back to your central.

Ready or Not will feature missions with some heavy subjects, so having Soft Objectives to go deeper into the lore is a more than welcomed addition to the game. Open every door, interact with every object, and don’t alert the enemy of your presence.
