Publisher Focus Entertainment has announced Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 has now been delayed to the second half of 2024.

It looks like the highly anticipated sequel, third-person shooter Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 has now been delayed to the second half of 2024. The news came as a press release which explained more time was needed to “properly polish” the game’s rough edges. By taking further time, it will also “ensure the best possible experience”.

40,000: Space Marine 2 – the iconic Games Workshop licence – in early December. The game is now poised to ship in the second half of 2024, to provide the time needed to properly polish the game and to ensure the best possible experience. Focus Entertainment is committed to releasing a game that is of the highest quality and that exceeds the expectations of the countless fans of the franchise. Space Marine 2 has already accumulated over a million wish lists to date.

The press release also states that the confirmed release date will be coming “in early December”. This could mean we’ll be hearing about the new launch at The Game Awards 2023. Although the news still could be coming as a standalone announcement on their own channels. Space Marine 2 joins Steam’s most wishlisted games which include the bug Metroidvania Hollow Knight: Silksong, the Monkey King retelling Black Myth: Wukong and the long-awaited Dragon’s Dogma 2. In case you missed it, Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 will follow Lieutenant Titus, an Ultramarine who has faced numerous battles. Leading squadron of Space Marines into the Tyranid to fight against the invasion of planet Sedna. They are superhuman warriors who are great defenders, having undergone harsh conditions and training to endure whatever is thrown at them. The third-person shooter will feature 3 player co-op, as well as solo campaigns.

While I’m sure fans will be disappointed that we have to wait longer for this awesome game, but I’m sure the added time the developers are taking their time to polish it will be worth the wait.
