The expansion features three game modes along with new quests and activities.
Developer Global Games has announced during the Warframe Devstream 168 broadcast that the Duvuri Paradox expansion will release sometime in April. Initially delayed from its original launch projection of winter 2022, the upcoming DLC has now been given an in-depth gameplay trailer that takes players through the open world of Duvuri as Drifter.
The development team also announced that TennoCon will be returning as an in-person live event after a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Partial reveals of The Duvuri Paradox have been shown over the past couple of years, but the expansion had never received a launch date — and technically speaking, it still hasn’t. Described as roguelike-inspired and emotionally driven, the expansion tells a sci-fi story that follows Drifter, who is stuck in a reality-fractured world. It features a stark black and white aesthetic, with Global Games revamping the game’s action combat experience to appeal to both old and new players.
The Duvuri Paradox will bring three game modes — The Lone Story, The Circuit, and The Duvuri Experience. Players can jump into an endless game mode with The Circuit, and they can also set off a new open-world adventure on The Duvuri Experience. The Lone Story, as its name suggests, is a solo narrative experience for those who need a break from the multiplayer mode. Additionally, the upcoming expansion introduces a new Decree system and Drifter customizations.
Players also got their first detailed look at the new combat system and Intrinsics to upgrade Riding Abilities, Endurance, and Opportunity. They will be able to explore a broken void space called The Undercroft, which includes custom arenas, new enemies, and different threats. Aside from those additions, the expansion also features a number of quests and activities that players can complete to earn rewards. “The Duviri Paradox is an ever-evolving content update that combines a cinematic narrative with Warframe systems both new and familiar,” the official press release reads.
