The epic historical anime Vinland Saga recently got a Blu-ray release for the first part of its second season, but fans can already preorder part two on Blu-ray. The 12-episode collection will arrive on October 15 and is available from Crunchyroll for $52.50, which is a nice discount from its normal $70 list price.
In case you’re unfamiliar with the series, Vinland Saga was created by Makoto Yukimura and follows young Viking warrior Thorfinn on a vengeance-driven journey to avenge his father. Joining a Viking band of mercenaries led by his father’s killer, Askeladd, Thorfinn finds out that things are more complex than he originally imagined. Season two picks up after Thorfinn finds himself robbed of purpose and enslaved to a farmer in Denmark, but it’s not long before Thorfinn begins searching for a new path in life amidst the bloody battles started by King Canute the Great.
The full 24-episode run of Vinland Saga: Season One also got a nice 50% discount recently, and Vinland Saga: Season Two Part One has been reduced from $70 to $50.

Vinland Saga Deluxe Edition Manga
If you enjoy the anime series, you’ll definitely want to grab the manga source material as well. The art in this series is elegantly brutal and very authentic, as Yukimura did a great deal of research when developing Vinland Saga. Deluxe editions of the manga are available and on sale, and each book is massive. Each one has almost 700 pages, and includes neat bonus content like exclusive color art, concept art, creator commentary, and color maps.
The other great thing about these editions is that they’re oversized editions and printed on very high-quality paper, so you can soak up Yukimura’s beautiful illustrations. The firs three volumes are currently available, and the next three volumes will be released soon.
