Answering old tweets from fans, these usually dating as far back as September 2022, which were requesting The Crew 3, or asking when it was going to come out, The Crew 2 gave several identical responses, “Tomorrow. 5PM UTC/9AM PST.” It did this on January 30, meaning that on January 31, fans are going to get some sort of information regarding the upcoming The Crew game. When it comes to when the game will release, the only information available on that is a report from Insider Gaming, which claims that The Crew 3 (or The Crew Motorfest), is set to launch sometime in 2023. The Crew is a long-time Ubisoft-published series, which first dropped into the scene with the original titular game in 2014.

It is a persistent open-world racing game, where players can race their friends via online multiplayer, perform various side activities, and drive freely through a scaled-down version of the United States. The game’s most recent iteration, The Crew 2, launched in 2018 and featured some notable changes from the original. Players could now drive numerous different types of vehicles besides cars, such as boats, motorcycles, and airplanes, a trend that is likely set to continue given the name ‘The Crew Motorfest’. It also featured a much more non-linear story in comparison to the first game.

Insider Gaming has also claimed to have seen images that confirm that the game will no longer take place in mainland United States, but will instead move to the Hawaiian island of Oahu, home of Honolulu. If true, the studio will likely be able to make the game’s playable map much more proportionally accurate to the location it’s based this time around. The Crew is developed by Ubisoft-owned studio Ivory Tower, which is based in Lyon, France.
