Though battles in the beginning of Atelier Ryza 3 won’t have you sweating too much, as you get farther into the game, you’ll have your fair share of powerful enemies to defeat. This means you’ll really have to get into synthesizing in order to build up your characters.
When you first approach the knight in The Trial of the Three Swords quest, don’t underestimate its abilities. You’ll want to prepare yourself diligently before you take on this formidable opponent.
Arrive At The Land Of Three Swords
To start the daunting battle with the knight, you’ll need to arrive at The Land of Three Swords Landmark, in the southern region of the Kark Isles. As soon as you arrive, a cutscene will begin introducing the enemy to your group.
To start the battle, you can directly approach the knight in the field in front of you. However, we will go over how to prepare for this battle as it will be hard to go into it without much preparation. The knight creates heavy damage, and has a strong shield that will require more effort to break through.
Preparation & Defeat The Knight At The Three Sword Land
Before you take on the knight, we recommend visiting the Hideout and upgrading your gear and giving your team members Core Items. We will go over every improvement that we gave to our team to help you prepare properly.
To start, you’ll want to make sure your team is at a higher level. You can make up for this by giving the characters stronger weapons, but if you don’t have access to great ingredients, our characters were around Level 30 when we were able to comfortably defeat the knight.
As for weapons, if you have not upgraded your characters’ weapons yet, this is the best time to do so. We suggest trying to create a weapon that is around 60 in Quality, and give it effects and traits that will benefit the character. With this opponent in particular, adding Knight Slayer as a trait will be very beneficial. Especially for Lent, make sure to improve his attack stats as much as possible, and add to it through his effects.
You’ll want to put emphasis on the attack stats from Klaudia’s weapon as well, and increasing Meteor Strike. As for Ryza and Tao, their focus is less on attack, but more on Alchemy and Critical Rate. So long as you focus on increasing these effects with each character and giving them a weapon that will increase all of their stats, you should be good to go.
Core Items is what will really save you in this battle. For characters that have lower HP and tend to fall faster, you’ll want to give them an item that regenerates their HP. A great item to synthesize that doesn’t require many ingredients is the Dry Biscuit. Give this item to Tao and Klaudia to prevent them from falling in battle, and any other characters you choose. You’ll want to give a few of your characters some bombs and plajigs as well, as this can deal additional damage to the knight.
Once you have properly prepared your team, you can approach the knight at The Land of the Three Swords. Utilize Lent as much as possible, as the knight is vulnerable to his ‘S’ Skill. He will also most likely be the team member with the most attack, so he can serve as your front and center.
When you finally defeat the knight, a statue and two treasure chests will appear in front of you. Open the chests, from which you will receive a few ingots. Then, approach the statue and activate it. This will unlock a portion of a secret island, which can be found at the Erupting Hill Landmark, in the very middle of Kark Isles. You can use the above image as reference of where to find it on the map, labeled by the blue circle. When you arrive, you will be able to activate another statue, and there will be a treasure chest for you to open at the back.
