Umi’s abilities are based on weapon charge and invincibility.
Level Infinite and Hotta Studio have released an introduction trailer for Umi, the newest Similacrum that will be added to Tower of Fantasy via the usual gacha with an update on February 23. The trailer also showcases Umi’s physical DPS tricks and expertise in the use of her whip, called Morbius.
Umi is an SSR-grade Simulacrum that specializes in physical damage. Her weapon effect Grievous inflicts damage equal to 137% of attack with the next attack when fully charged. She can increase physical attack by 20% and physical resistance by 40% by equipping two or more physical weapons. As for her abilities, Umi’s normal attack uses Morbius to attack 5 Times in a row while on the ground. She also has a dodge ability, called Steal the Show, which deals 187% of attack and +10 damage to targets after dodging.
Dealing damage with any weapon builds Preheat Value for Umi. Physical weapons accumulate 3 points, while other elemental weapons accumulate 1.5 at a time. Players will fill up the magic meter with these Preheat Value points. When the meter reaches 100 points, using Umi’s ‘Magic Time’ skill deals 950% of attack and +50 damage to enemies. It also gives Umi a limited-time invincibility and reduces the movement of affected targets. Lastly, Umi can gain another limited-time invincibility by switching to Fragrant Tea when the weapon charge is full or Phantasia is triggered.
In case you’re unfamiliar with the concept of Similacrums, they are unlockable characters that players can use to change their fighting style during combat. Similacrums are key parts of the game’s gacha system, giving players access to various abilities and weapons. They are also associated with passive effects as the AI warriors that allow players to take new appearances. Each Simulacrum has its own move set that can be used for different purposes. For instance, Huma is good at tanking while Crow is skilled in solo content.
Tower of Fantasy previously released an in-depth gameplay trailer for Allys, the latter Similacrum added to the game on February 2. Umi, on the other hand, is the latest hero joining the roster of Similacrums in the game, which also includes Lyra, Annabella, Fiona, and Icarus.
