The official website of Tokyo Revengers has confirmed that the long-awaited Season 2, better known as the Christmas Showdown arc, will stream exclusively on Disney Plus and Disney Plus Hotstar. For fans based in Japan, the series will continue to air on local networks, including AT-X, TV Tokyo, and MBS.

This isn’t the first time Disney Plus has streamed hit anime shows on its platform. Previously, Disney Plus acquired the rights to air Bleach: Thousand Years Blood War, and now another hit anime will hit the platform when Season 2 of Tokyo Revengers hits screens early next year.

Disney is continuing to increase their output of anime content on the platform, as just recently, the streaming service joined hands with the well-known Japanese publishing company, Kodansha. The collaboration of the two giants is good news for fans as the upcoming anime based on the manga published by Kodansha will also stream on Disney Plus, which was confirmed via Disney Plus Japan’s official Twitter account.

After Tokyo Revenger’s first season came to an end in September of 2021, fans have been eagerly awaiting the show’s return. Then on December 18th 2021, just three months after the first season ended, the series was renewed for a second season. News on the second season was then dormant until earlier this year when it was confirmed that the new season will be released in January of 2023. If you’re yet to jump into the hit anime series, there’s still some time left until the release of Tokyo Revengers Season 2, which means it’s the perfect time to watch the first season of the series if you haven’t watched it already.

Here’s how Crunchyroll describes the story of Tokyo Revengers:

Takemichi Hanagaki is a freelancer that’s reached the absolute pits of despair in his life. He finds out that the only girlfriend he ever had, in middle school, Hinata Tachibana, had been killed by the ruthless Tokyo Manji Gang. The day after hearing about her death, he’s standing on the station platform and ends up being pushed over onto the tracks by a herd of people. He closes his eyes thinking he’s about to die, but when he opens his eyes back up, he somehow had gone back in time 12 years. Now that he’s back living the best days of his life, Takemichi decides to get revenge on his life.
