Tips And Tricks To Win Matches

A new chapter of Fortnite means there are more weapons, places to land on the map, and game mechanics added for you to try out. While Chapter 3 did some things right, Chapter 4 takes those positives and brings them to a whole other level adding new ways to play.

That being said, if you want to be able to secure a win in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1, there are a few things that you should keep in mind first. While all of these tips and tricks won’t guarantee you a victory royale on the first try, they will however significantly improve your chances.

10/10 Know What To Bring

If you’re playing by yourself or whether it’d be in a duo, trios, or squads match, figuring out what you’re going to carry is the primary factor to success. Try to figure out ahead of time what healing items or utilities are needed. The last thing you would want to do is to walk into battle without any shields or bandages because you thought you needed some extra jump pads.

While it can be a struggle some of the time, it’s better to have at least one healing item on you at all times. The rest of your inventory slots can be free with whatever you choose. The choice is completely up to you.

9/10 Talk To The NPCs

Talk to the NPCs that you may come across while playing. More than likely, at every big-name location you’ll find one wandering around. They sell all types of items from utilities, healing items, and even exotic weapons. Just talking to them alone will give you some items that are useful, whether that’d be bandages or mini-shields.

Some of the items are more expensive than others, so it’s important to make sure that you have enough gold on you in order to afford them. How do you get gold fast? I’m glad you asked.

8/10 Prioritize Gold

Gold is going to be the best way for you to get items fast throughout your time in Chapter 4 Season 1. With gold, you can purchase items from NPCs and different vending machines that are scattered in different areas of the map. In order for you to get old fast, make sure you search every chest, toolbox, and ammo crate you can as gold tends to fall out of them.

Two other methods for earning gold are to break furniture in houses like couches and beds, or you can use the bounty board. Once you eliminate the target, the gold is all yours. If you do these methods every match, you’ll be rich in no time.

7/10 Find Slurp And Slap Barrels

If you ever find yourself out of healing items, always keep an eye out for Slurp and Slap barrels. Breaking these will replenish your health and shield like an ordinary Chug Splash or Slap Juice would. Unlike the Slurp barrels, Slap barrels will also give you a boost in speed making you immune to fatigue for a little while.

You can find these barrels in landmarks or at most POIs and aren’t too hard to come across. If you’re in a team, make sure to let them know, so everyone can get some of the healing juices.

6/10 Sometimes Foraging Is The Only Option

While on the topic of healing items, you can also forage for them instead of trying to find them inside chests. If you look hard, in forest areas you can find mushrooms on the ground that will grant you health and shield if you eat them. Not only that but you can find Slap Berry bushes as well that act the same as a Slap Juice or barrel.

Inside most locations, you’ll come across a box of fruits and vegetables which also act as healing items. Don’t underestimate them as they will come in handy more times than you may initially think.

5/10 Take Advantage Of Outposts

One of the new gameplay mechanics that has been added to Chapter 4 is Outposts. Think of it as a King of The Hill moment. No not the show, the game. There’s a flag in the middle of the POI and you or your squad has the opportunity to capture it. It takes longer to do so when by yourself so try to get everyone on the point.

Once you do, not only do a bunch of items drop, but everything around you is highlighted from chests to people. It gives you the upper hand in battle so try to be one of the first to capture it.

4/10 Find The Perfect Augments

Another new feature that’s been added to Fortnite is the addition of Augments. Augments act as a perk system that can give you benefits inside and outside of battle. These can be as simple as whenever you hide inside of foliage you heal over time, or even as you play a balloon will randomly attach itself to you.

Pairing the right augments together will help you out. They come up randomly in two’s so if there isn’t one you don’t like you can re-roll them. While the first one is free, the second one costs gold.

3/10 Take Down The Ageless

The Ageless is a new NPC boss that’s located inside the Citadel, if you ever decide to land there, taking him down will increase your chance of survival. The Ageless isn’t going down without a fight though as he carries a mythical version of the Ex-Caliber Rifle that can hurt pretty bad if he gets a hit off you.

Defeating him and claiming the weapon and gear he drops will have you well-suited for any battle that you come across. If other people try to fight him, try to intervene from a distance and shoot them instead. Doing so will clear out any remaining enemies and leave him weak enough for you to finish the job.

2/10 Explore The New Map

The new map that Chapter 4 is huge and has more to offer than the previous ones. There are a lot of landmarks and POIs to explore this time around and will only prove to be beneficial to do just that. Finding new locations will not only fill the map up of all those grey areas, but also give you more decisions when trying to figure out where to land.

Instincts might tell you to drop at the big-name locations for the best loot, however, that’s not true. Plus it’s better to actually give yourself a fighting chance compared to hot-dropping and dying because you couldn’t find a weapon.

1/10 Learn The New Weapons

A new loot pool has been added to Chapter 4 making everything that you know from the last chapter obsolete. Take time out to actually get a feel for the new weapons and how they work. If you feel like weapons like the Ex-Caliber Rifle or the Twin Mag SMG are hard to use, try picking them up more often to get a better feel for them.

At the end of it all if they still don’t do you justice, then at least you can say you tried. More weapons are expected to get added as Chapter 4 goes on, so try to diversify your arsenal as much as possible.
