Sony has revealed this month’s PlayStation Plus’s titles and leading the line-up is the fantastic God of War.
Its inclusion in the PlayStation Plus June line-up couldn’t come a better time. Why? Because the follow-up, God of War Ragnarok (also a PlayStation exclusive) is set to release this year and definitely, really won’t be delayed. Honest. Technically the fifth entry in the series, 2018’s God of War (PS4) sees the previously murder-crazed Kratos settling down and having a son, Atreus.
When his wife (who doesn’t even feature in a flash-back) dies, he and Atreus set off on a journey to scatter her ashes. This being an action RPG, things don’t go according to plan and soon you, as Kratos, are crossing axes with all manner of gods and beasties.
You can check out our review here, but we gave it a phenomenal 10 out of 10, calling it “…the type of game that when you aren’t playing it, you’re thinking about playing it.” It’ll take you a good 30+ hours to complete but it’s worth every minute.
But what about the other two PlayStation Plus titles which, this month, are Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl (PS4) and Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker (PS4 and PS5)? The former is fun though we suspect the platform fighter is in danger of being eclipsed by Warner Bros.’ upcoming Multiversus. Shinobi Striker, on the other hand, is best skipped. We gave it a 4 out of 10, describing it as “painful to play”, so unless you’re a Naruto fan with a masochistic streak, don’t bother.
These titles will be all PlayStation Plus subscribers from June 7th. That’ll remain the case when Sony’s multi-tiered PlayStation Plus overhaul rolls out in your region.
