The Walking Dead’s final season will air in less than a month — kicking off the first eight episodes of a season that will ultimately be split into three parts. Ahead of the premiere date, AMC revealed a new trailer featuring two new cast members joining the show while also sharing new details about the finale.
During The Walking Dead virtual Comic-Con panel, the first full trailer for the final season was revealed following weeks of teasers. Additionally, the panel announced that Laila Robins and Josh Hamilton will join the cast as series regulars as Governor Pamela Milton and Lance Hornsby.
While The Walking Dead will conclude next year, that does not mean the franchise itself will go dormant. AMC has already greenlit a spinoff series focusing on Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier, which is slated to premiere sometime in 2023.
Additionally, spinoff shows Fear The Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond will return for their respective seventh and second seasons this October. What’s more, according to Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays the character Negan, there are talks about a potential spinoff series focusing on the character.
Finally, The Walking Dead will make its way to the big screen in the form of a movie trilogy starring Andrew Lincoln, who played Rick Grimes before departing the show in its ninth season.
The Walking Dead Season 11 will premiere on August 22, though if you have a subscription to AMC+, you will be able to stream all episodes from 11A beginning August 15. While parts 11B and 11C are slated to premiere sometime in 2022.
