Political strategist and former Director of Strategic Communications to Donald Trump Alyssa Farah Griffin has been making appearances on the ABC chat show since 2018, but was finally made permanent for season 26 last year. However, fans of The View were given a worrying update from co-star Whoopi Goldberg about Griffin’s health at the start of Wednesday’s show.

Goldberg confirmed Griffin had to take a day off from The View on Wednesday after testing positive for Covid-19.

She has not confirmed when her co-host will be back, nor if she is experiencing any symptoms.

Griffin herself has also yet to comment on her diagnosis.

However, her absence prompted an outpouring from The View’s many fans who sent her good wishes on social media.

Meanwhile, her co-host Goldberg was also recovering from a health update this week as she went glasses-free for the first time on Monday.

“I had an operation, and they replaced the lens,” she confirmed, pointing to her left eye.

“And the lens they replaced it with is kind of like my eyeglass lens.”

“You can see!” her co-host Sunny Hostin exclaimed as the live audience burst into applause.”
