The Sims 4 has announced that a new ‘Behind The Sims’ showcase is scheduled to go live on January 31. The new event will be the successor to the first Behind The Sims livestream that took place back in October 2022. And as the first Sims livestream of 2023, it will land on the official YouTube and Twitch channels of The Sims this Tuesday at 9 AM PST.
The official post on The Sims Community website does not share any details about what to expect from the new livestream, but does tease “exciting news.” The first one showcased new features and updates for The Sims 4, and offered a glimpse into the “next-generation of The Sims.” Hopefully, the new event will also offer more details about the development of The Sims 5, or Project Rene, as the post says that they will “share exciting news, take you behind the scenes and more.”
Earlier this month, The Sims team shared a teaser video showing the roadmap for The Sims 4 in 2023. The short video also teased the highly anticipated infants update alongside two new kits and an upcoming expansion. Whether or not further details on the highly anticipated infants update will be shared next week remains to be seen.
The Sims 4 has been expanding its domain in the gaming landscape since it went free back in October 2022 across multiple platforms. The game had over 1.4 billion hours played, and received the ‘High School Years’ expansion in July as well. With the new expansion pack underway, there is no doubt that there will be even more activities for The Sims 4 players in the future.
Most recently, the game has received the Simtimates Collection Kit, which introduced a click-and-drag character creation option that adds a whole new layer to the game. With the new kit, The Sims 4 has mostly satisfied its lacklustre fashion department and implemented a more dynamic appearance customization system.
While the current state of The Sims 4 spells good things about the title’s future, players are still waiting to hear more news from The Sims 5, which initiated its playtesting phase a few months ago. There aren’t many details about the new game except for a series of leaked images showing apartment interiors. Those who would like to possibly hear more from the new mainline entry of The Sims series should save the date for Behind The Sims livestream on January 31.
