ABC’s hit procedural drama The Rookie will return to screens on Tuesday with another gripping investigation. This time, the case will shine a light on Celina Juarez (played by Lisseth Chavez) who will work tirelessly to track down her sister’s killer after Angela Lopez (Alyssa Diaz) spots a harrowing pattern.
Ahead of season five’s episode 19 of The Rookie, ABC released an insightful promo clip of the upcoming instalment.
The 30-second teaser revealed A Hole in the World will focus on Officer Celina’s personal life, shedding light on one of her family’s biggest mysteries.
The clip kicked off with Celina standing at her young sister Yesenia Juarez’s gravesite, while Lopez could be heard asking John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) about her whereabouts.
To which, Nolan responded: “Today’s the anniversary of the day her sister was taken.”

A concerned Lopez revealed: “I found two similar kidnappings,” as Nolan reiterated: “All the girls were found dead less than a month after they disappeared.”
“That sounds like a serial killer,” he remarked.
This was the case with Yesenia, as Celia disclosed her younger sister was taken from the family’s front yard when she was just nine years old.
Her mother then turned to a psychic for help, after three weeks of no leads from law enforcement.
The psychic worked with the police and eventually found Yesenia, but she later died as a result of the kidnapping after spending two weeks in hospital.
During the promo clip, Celina and Nolan were on patrol when they were radioed about a kidnapping in the area.
They spoke to a distressed mother who confirmed: “I heard a scream and she was gone.”
As Lopez and Nyla Harper (Mekia Cox) arrived on the scene, Celia asked them: “It’s him, isn’t it? It’s the same guy.”
The clip then cut to the young girl alone and seemingly unconscious as the kidnapper stood over her with a gun in his hand.
Speaking to Nolan, a worried Celia said: “We can’t do anything till we find her,” but he assured her: “And we will.”
The next scene then showed the officer hovering over something, as another announced: “We found something.”
Lopez probed: “What is it,” the teaser then showed concerned looks from Lopez, Nolan and Celina.
