The Real Star Of Silent Hill 2 Is Now A Cool Coin-Saving Collectible

Silent Hill 2 is beloved for many reasons, but if you need a reason to preach the survival-horror gospel, the adorable “dog ending” of the 2001 game is sure to get some people interested in playing it. And now, you can even save some cash with that weird moment, thanks to this new collectible.

Available to preorder at Sideshow Collectibles, the Silent Hill 2 Inu (Dog) End coin bank recaptures the energy of that surprising conclusion in fine art and fiscal responsibility form. The diorama statue features the real mastermind of Silent Hill 2, a Shiba Inu dog by the name of Mira, behind the controls of the machines that made protagonist James Sunderland go through hell.

Finally, it’s Mira’s chance to shine.

You’d think Sunderland would be angry at being subjected to so much torment, but how can you stay mad when you’re facing a pooch who is genuinely happy to see you?

While there’s some beautiful detail on Mira, the console is also an authentic recreation of the machine used by the hound to set events in motion. It’s full of nods to the game and can easily store a sizable chunk of change inside. Priced at $230, it’s expected to launch by January 2025 at latest.

The highly anticipated Silent Hill 2 remake arrives on October 6, and is being developed by Bloober Team. The studio has crafted several horror games in the past–Layers of Fear, The Medium, and Blair Witch–and is being made inside of Unreal Engine 5. Silent Hill 2 preorders are also available, just in case you want to see if Mira returns to cause chaos.
