Get preloaded so you can start your scarefest at the strike of midnight!

The Quarry is the latest choose your own adventure-style horror game from the team at Supermassive Games, known for Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures Anthology games. This time, players will be put in control of nine summer camp counselors as they try and survive the last night of camp, teeming with supernatural spooks and some mysterious locals. If you simply can’t wait to dive in, chances are you’re going to want to know all about The Quarry’s preload and unlock times, and we’ve got everything you need to know here.
When Can You Preload The Quarry on PlayStation, Xbox & PC?
PlayStation 4 and PS5 preload has currently yet to start.
As for those playing on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles, you should be able to preload at least part of the game now, on June 7. As long as you’ve purchased and preordered the game digitally, the game files should now begin downloading.
For PC players, you’ll need to wait a little bit longer, as no official confirmation on when the preload period will begin has been shared by developer Supermassive Games or publisher 2K yet. We do know that Steam preloading tends to go live 48 hours before the game’s official release date, when it’s made available.
That means preloading is expected to begin for PC players on June 8, but there’s no guarantee that preload will be available for The Quarry.
The Quarry Unlock Times
The Quarry’s release date is June 10, and so as long as your preload has finished, you’ll be able to begin playing as soon as the clock strikes midnight in your time zone on PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
PC players may have to wait a little longer again, as Steam unlock times can sometimes be as late as 8am/9am PT. That equates to 11am/12pm ET and 4pm/5pm UK time.
What’s The Quarry Install Size on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation?
According to the Steam Store page for the game, The Quarry will require at least 50 GB of storage space on PC.
Neither the Xbox Store or PlayStation Store have listed an approximate file size for the console versions of the game yet, but as soon we have concrete information we’ll update this post and let you know.
The Quarry Preorder Bonuses
Anyone who preorders The Quarry will get a ‘Filter’ pack, allowing them to change the visual style of The Quarry with the use of three cinematic visual filters. These are:
- 8mm-style film grain (Indie Horror)
- Retro VHS aesthetic (’80s Horror)
- Classic black-and-white cinematic filter (Classic Horror)
