The Power sees a shift in the world as women are able to transform modern civilisation with their new powers and a matriarchy is established. Written by author Naomi Alderman, The Power had a very famous fan in former American President Barack Obama when it came out, listing it as one of his favourite books of 2017. Now, the sci-fi drama is being transformed into a series for Amazon Prime Video with an all-star cast.

Who is in the cast of The Power on Amazon Prime Video?

Margot Cleary-Lopez – Toni Collette

Margot is a rising star in the world of politics whose career is going from strength to strength.

As the world starts to see teenage girls with the power to produce electricity, she sees this as an opportunity to change the world for the better.

Australian actress Toni Collette is most famously known for her titular role as Muriel in the 1994 comedy movie Muriel’s Wedding.

In recent years, Collette has taken on far more serious parts in projects like Hereditary, Pieces of Her, Knives Out and The Staircase.

Rob Lopez – John Leguizamo

Rob is Margot’s husband who is very support of her thriving career and a loving dad to their daughter Jos.

As she starts to experience the power running through her own body, Rob fights to ensure her safety from those who are far from pleased with the evolutionary development.

Actor John Leguizamo has been in hundreds of films over the years, including Romeo + Juliet, Encanto, Ice Age, John Wick, Rage and Spawn.

His latest part was in the 2022 Christmas horror movie Violent Night with Stranger Things star David Harbour.

Jos Cleary-Lopez – Auli’i Cravalho

Jos is Margot and Rob’s daughter who is one of the thousands of teenage girls who gains unexplained powers of electricity.

She starts to learn more about herself, build stronger friendships and feel more confident in herself than ever before, as a result.

Actress Auli’i Cravalho made her acting debut as the voice of the titular character in the 2016 Disney movie Moana.

Since then, she has appeared in the Netflix film All Together Now, Hulu’s romantic-comedy Crush and NBC drama Rise.

Tunde – Toheeb Jimoh

Tunde is a Nigerian video journalist who first notices the changes in his home country and travels to America to conduct wider research.

He meets with Margot to tell her his findings and believes this could be for the greater good in the long-run.

English actor Toheeb Jimoh has played Sam Obisanya in Ted Lasso and Anthony Walker in the BBC One TV movie Anthony.

Daniel Dandon – Josh Charles

Daniel is the governor of a state in New England and Margot’s immediate superior.

Unlike many others, Daniel believes these newfound powers could be a danger to society.

Actor Josh Charles has been Will Gardner in The Good Wife, which earned him two Primetime Emmy Award nominations, Knox Overstreet in Dead Poets Society and Dan Rydell Sports Night.

Bernie Monke – Eddie Marsan

Bernie is a London crime boss who starts to reap the benefits of young women getting these unexplained powers.

Actor Eddie Marsan has featured in Ray Donovan, The Gentleman, Happy-Go-Lucky and most recently, The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe.

Roxy Monke – Ria Zmitrowicz

Roxy is the daughter of Bernie who is eager to get involved in the family business.

She begins threatening those who owe her dad money with help from her powers.

Actress Ria Zmitrowicz has been in Three Girls, Teen Spirit and Youngers.
