The NFL, National Football League Players’ Association, and developer StatusPRO announced NFL Pro Era 2, a new VR sports game for Meta Quest. The sequel introduces new online multiplayer modes, an expanded career mode, and improvements to graphics, player AI, and more.
“NFL Pro era 2 represents another opportunity for us to bring our game closer to fans through the ultimate experience of playing as an NFL quarterback,” Ed Kiang, the NFL’s vice president of video gaming, said in a statement. “Collaborating with StatusPRO on this rapidly growing franchise showcases our commitment to offering best-in-class, immersive gameplay and technology to bring fans and gamers closer to the action than was ever possible before.”
NFL Pro Era 2 lets you play as the quarterback of your favorite team this time, and you can face off against friends and foes from around the world in head-to-head and freeplay multiplayer game modes. Head-to-head is your basic competitive multiplayer, while freeplay lets you practice throws and generally rank up your game before taking the field for real.
Passing and general performance received a makeover, and as your own performance improves, you’ll gain Coach Confidence, a new feature that gradually unlocks more plays and abilities as you prove you can handle them.

NFL Pro Era 2 launches Sep. 28, 2023, for $29.99 USD on the Meta Quest Store and Steam platforms.
