CI Games showcases horrifying bosses in the unforgiving world of The Lords of the Fallen.
CI Games recently shared a new batch of screenshots from The Lords of the Fallen reboot via the official Twitter account of the game, revealing its new environment and introducing a new giant boss that players are supposed to fight.
Originally announced during the Gamescom 2022 opening ceremony, The Lords of the Fallen is a reboot from the ground up, promising a Souls-like experience in a world five times bigger than the original game. With a quick look at the new screenshots, you can witness a few of the bosses you are going to slay in the unforgiving world of the game. One of the new shots reveals a three-headed flying dragon, which appears to be inspired by Cerberus of Greek mythology. The other boss in the second screenshot had already been introduced in the gameplay trailer.
The third screenshot showcases the protagonist on top of a hill overlooking a ruined building. The game’s universe is divided into two parallel worlds: one belonging to the living and the other the home of the dead.
Similar to Elden Ring, The Lords of the Fallen offers both single-player and multiplayer experiences, including co-op and PvP modes. The game is supposed to feature up to nine character classes, leaving you free to fully customize your character as you progress through missions and earn new gear.
We also saw how the game would run in a gameplay trailer that was shared earlier in December 2022, as we witnessed the game’s dark world a little bit as well as well as a glimpse of the combat system. Unlike the original game that was developed by Deck 13 and CI Games, the reboot is developed by CI Games’ new internal studio, Hexworks, which was founded in 2020. The Lords of the Fallen is the debut title of the studio, set to arrive nine years after the launch of the original game.
The Lords of the Fallen currently targets a release in 2023 with no specific window. The game is powered by Unreal Engine 5 and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
