The Live Experience’ to launch in London

Organisers of Taskmaster have confirmed that the show’s new live experience will launch in London this autumn.

It comes after hosts Greg Davies and Alex Horne shared plans for Taskmaster: The Live Experience which will allow viewers to “take part in the same ludicrous tasks that these so-called comedians do”, last December.

The duo launched a mailing list to gauge interest in the idea, with 100,000 sign-ups required to get the project off the ground at the time.

An overwhelming response from fans of the Channel 4 show was received and a ticket ballot has now been created to allocate tickets to Taskmaster fans for the forthcoming interactive experience which will take place at Dock X from September 18 to January 25, 2025.

“We were hoping 100,000 people might sign up to the Live Experience mailing list, but when 250,000 did, we were excited and scared respectively,” Davies and Horne said in a statement.

“Do you want to compete in ludicrous tasks, just like your favourite comedians? Of course you do! And you can still sign up to Taskmaster: The Live Experience mailing list right now to enter the ticket ballot.”

A ticket ballot will be drawn from 10am on June 19 before tickets go on general sale on June 21. You can sign up for the ballot here and if you have already signed up, you will be automatically entered into the ballot.

According to a press release, Taskmaster: The Live Experience will include “brand-new ridiculous and infuriating tasks set in the lab, living room, shed and other recognisable locations will get contestants battling for points, culminating in a final in the studio theatre where one player will win the Taskmaster’s seal of approval”.

Meanwhile, Horne recently spoke to NME about the long-running TV show’s upcoming VR adaption,

Announced last year, Taskmaster VR has been created by indie developer Scallywag Arcade and will feature voice acting from both the Taskmaster Greg Davies, and his assistant Horne.

“I was very involved, but I did very little,” Horne told NME  “I live Taskmaster, but people are constantly approaching us with different ideas.

When Scallywag approached Horne about a potential Taskmaster VR game, it was an instant yes. “VR is ideal for Taskmaster because you actually have to do the thing,” Horne said. “I’m not sure it would work as a conventional game but with this, players can actually experiment and explore.”
