It’s hard to believe that a game like The Last of Us debuted on console nearly a decade ago in 2013. What’s even harder to believe is that the franchise is more popular than ever with recent remakes and HBO series. Fans that can’t get enough of the post-apocalyptic tale have plenty of content to hold them over, especially if they’ve been waiting on the PC release of the original’s remake. However, Naughty Dog recently revealed that players will have to wait a few more weeks for the remake to hit digital shelves. The Last of Us Part I has been delayed on PC.

The news of the delay for The Last of Us Part I was announced on the official Naughty Dog Twitter in a lengthy explanation. The development team tackles the problem head-on, starting the note with “Let’s get right to it” before announcing that the Last of Us Part I will get delayed, missing its March 3 date. However, the delay won’t leave fans hanging too much longer.

The Last of Us Part I gets delayed on PC for polish

The new launch date for The Last of Us Part I will be on March 28, only a few weeks shy of its original kickoff. The Naughty Dog development note didn’t delve into the specifics about the delay, whether the tweaks were mechanical, graphic, or other. The team did say, though, “These additional few weeks will allow us to ensure this version of The Last of Us lives up to your, and our, standards.” Sony is interested in expanding its share of the PC market, so it looks as though the company wants a great first impression for players experiencing PlayStation titles for the first time.

The Last of Us Part I delay now sets the launch date on March 28, 2023. You can pre-purchase the game now on Steam for $59.99 USD, if that’s your thing. Doing so will grant you a few bonus items, including weapon parts and stat improvements right out of the gate.
