The Krang invade in the first trailer for RISE OF THE TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: THE MOVIE

Premiering back in 2018, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles took a decidedly different turn for the beloved franchise from Nickelodeon. As revealed during the multi-year deal between Netflix and Nickelodeon, a Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie is set to debut on the streaming service. Today Netflix unveiled the first trailer for Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie. Check it out below.

The official description below:

Continuing the tale from the hit Nickelodeon series, Raphael, Michelangelo, Leonardo and Donatello are back in action and up to their teenage antics in this comedic adventure that raises the stakes higher than ever before. The Turtles are put to the test when a mysterious stranger named Casey Jones arrives from the future to warn the mutant brothers of an impending invasion of the most dangerous alien force in the galaxy – the Krang! Can the team rise up to become the heroes they are destined to be, or will their teenage foibles get the better of them? What unfolds is the most adventurous, emotional, and epic story ever told of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The original voice cast from the series will be reprising their roles including Omar Miller as Raphael, Ben Schwartz as Leonardo, Josh Brener as Donatello, Brandon Mychal Smith as Michelangelo, Kat Graham as April O’Neil and Eric Bauza as Splinter. Additionally, Haley Joel Osment is also in the film and while his character was not officially revealed, it seems safe to presume he is voicing Casey Jones.

Ant Ward and Andy Suriano are both serving as director on the project, both having produced the original show, with the latter also having served as character designer. Tony Gama-Lobo, story editor on the show, and Rebecca May (King of the Hill) are serving as writers.

Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie is directed by Andy Suriano and Ant Ward, who previously developed the animated series, from a screenplay by Tony Gama-Lobo and Rebecca May.

Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja: The Movie premieres on Friday, August 5 on Netflix.
