Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew is a new stealth strategy game from the creators of Desperados 3.
Mimimi Games, the development studio behind Desperados 3 and Shadow Tactics: Blades of Shogun, has announced its next stealth strategy game Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, which is set during an alternate history of the Golden Age of Piracy. The upcoming RTS game will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC later this year.
Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew has received its first gameplay trailer that gives players a brief idea of what to expect from the game’s stealth mechanics, character controls, and combat. According to the development team, Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew is a stealth strategy game in which players will embark on a new journey with the cursed pirate, Afia.
Players will build their crew to complete a number of new adventures and progress in the story set in the Lost Caribbean. Each of the eight shipmates that will join the crew has an individual personality and can perform supernatural abilities during combat.
Perhaps most importantly, the game features improved stealth mechanics, allowing players to observe and outsmart enemies with a mix of distractions, timing, and attack. Players can also use the ship’s manipulation powers and magical abilities to go on a heist across islands to find hidden treasures. The time manipulation weapon allows players to pause time and re-consider their plan before diving into enemies. It’s down to the decision of the player on whether or not they want to be stealthy or more head-on in their gameplay style while using the environment to their advantage.
Players will seek a mysterious treasure of otherworldly power that can be used to defeat the army of the Inquisition. They will sneak behind enemy lines and combine magical abilities to stand against a variety of enemies. Players won’t have to stick to the game’s main story, as they can hang out with shipmates for treasure hunting and more combat. They can also complete individual character missions to learn more about their shipmates’ story backgrounds. A number of exotic islands with tropical beaches and shanty towns will await pirates to explore.
Telling an alternate history set in the Lost Caribbean, Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew requires players to build their plan wisely. They should change their tactics and approach to combat from time to time. The stealth strategy game will be available for Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store in 2023.
