The Crew Motorfest officially revealed as the next game in the franchise

Ubisoft and its Ivory Tower studio have officially revealed The Crew Motorfest, the third installment in the acclaimed action-racing series. Taking place on the famous Hawaiian island of O’ahu. This new experience will allow players to take part in Motorfest, a “one-of-a-kind festival” that sports “the experiences car culture has to offer” across a variety of different races, themed events “and other unique challenges.”

The world of O’ahu in The Crew Motorfest includes all of the island’s key features, such as its beautiful turquoise ocean, the challenging serpentines of its volcanic roads, and the urban streets of the island’s main city, Honolulu. Of course, players can also venture into the island’s tropical rainforest, and cruise around on the white, sandy beaches.

The car list sports “hundreds” of “legendary vehicles,” including modern favorites like the newest iteration of the famous Ford Bronco. With so many different landscapes to explore across O’ahu, there will be a lot of different driving styles at play across the Motorfest.

The Crew Motorfest isn’t The Crew 3, but it’s still the next game in the series

Ubisoft has provided a first look at the world of Motorfest with a high-octane gameplay reveal trailer.

As seen in the trailer, the driving possibilities are quite plentiful, as so many sectors of the island appear to be fully explorable. Currently, it’s unknown just how much of a scaled recreation of O’ahu is being featured in the game. Racing veterans may remember that this is not the first open-world racer to be based entirely within Hawaii. Test Drive Unlimited 2 boasted a fairly comprehensive map of the same island of O’ahu.

Considering that released over a decade ago on much more primitive hardware, it will be very interesting to see how much more of a dynamic virtual playground Ivory Tower has been able to cook up for modern race fans.

The Crew Motorfest is set to hit the streets later in 2023 on PC (Epic Games Store & Ubisoft Connect) and console platforms, as well as the Amazon Luna streaming service.
