Character Collectibles

Most of the collectibles in The Cosmic Shake aren’t necessary for completing the base game, but instead offer achievements and trophies, side-quests and cosmetics in the game. As players progress through the game, various characters in Bikini Bottom will have a red-flag icon over their heads, indicating they have a side-quest available.

Speaking to them will initiate a side-quest that will task players with locating a set number of collectibles across the game to help these characters with certain issues they’re facing. Completing these side-quests will reward the player with one Doubloon each.

  • Patrick Star: Patrick has lost 9 of his Giant Sticky Notes across Bikini Bottom, and wants them back.
  • Plankton: Plankton’s pet, Spot, has found Hiding Spots in every level of the game and needs to be found to return to the Chum Bucket.
  • Mr. Krabs: Mr. Krabs has lost 5 Pennies in Pirate Goo Lagoon and can’t stop worrying about having them back.
  • Sandy: Sandy needs 5 Hot Objects from Prehistoric Kelp Forest to heat her tree dome.
  • Nurse: The Shady Shoals Nurse has lost 7 Fortune Cookies around Karate Downtown Bikini Bottom and needs them to stay calm while working with her patients.
  • Squidward: Squidward’s throat is sore while he re-learns the English language, so SpongeBob needs to find 5 Refreshments in Wild West Jellyfish Fields to help.
  • Mrs. Puff: Mrs. Puff has lost 5 Good Noodle Stickers in Halloween Rock Bottom and needs them retrieved for her boating school class.

Standard Collectibles

In addition to these character-focused collectibles, The Cosmic Shake features several standard collectibles that are likewise scattered across the game, and feature unique properties.

  • The Golden Spatulas make their triumphant return from Battle For Bikini Bottom. While not necessary for progression or as numerous as before, the sight and sound of one is a welcome sight to behold.
  • Doubloons are the real haymaker collectibles in The Cosmic Shake. While some are hidden throughout the game world, many are locked behind specific challenges and games that the player can complete, most relating to specific powers and move sets SpongeBob can utilize. Collecting a certain amount of them will unlock a new tier of costumes for SpongeBob that can be purchased with Jelly collected from tiki crates and defeated enemies.

The Cosmic Shake is not short on activities and quests to keep players happy and engaged for hours on end, even after completing the main storyline. Utilizing SpongeBob’s growing move set and the branching paths of the game offers plenty of replay opportunities to unlock new costumes and inch ever closer to 100% completion. If you see a button, pathway, or obstacle you can’t get to, try revisiting it later on, it’ll probably be holding one of these collectibles to add to your collection.
