The Alacryan Army has finally reached Dicathen, and now the war everyone has heard about for so long is finally at the doorstep. On the one hand, Dicathen is in a state of emergency, and the previous chapter revealed further havoc breaking on the capital as Cynthia Goodsky, Virion’s closest friend, has died. Now we will probably see Virion, Arthur, and the others making the final preparations for the war before the Alacryans finally attack.
What Happened Previously On The Beginning After The End?
The soldier informed the arrival of the Alacryan ships, after which Arthur ran outside to see it with his own eyes. He was stopped by the guards at the gate, stating that it could be dangerous to go outside. Arthur used his magic to teach them a lesson, but Eldir arrived on time and stated that Arthur could go anywhere he wanted but warned him against doing anything foolish.
The next panel took us to Cynthia, who could be seen resting in her bed, and two dark and mysterious figures stood by her side. They told her to give them as much information as possible, stating that she could save millions of lives by doing so. They told her that even if she died revealing the information, it would be worth it. Suddenly, she woke up and wondered if Eldir had lifted the curse or not.
We then saw Eldir and Cynthia in their young days, and the former asked what she planned to do as the war was now over. He further stated that he never stopped thinking about one thing, and Cynthia guessed it would be his undying love for her. But Eldir denied it, stating that she shouldn’t forget that he was married. Eldir stated that he always thought she would become a great teacher, and Cynthia replied that she would open up her own academy, which would be the greatest school for mages the world ever saw. Cynthia started bleeding from her mouth as they parted ways, and Aldir woke up from his dream.
Some soldiers arrived and informed that they heard a scream from the floor below, which shocked Aldir as it hinted at Cynthia’s room. Arthur was running towards the door and was stopped by the guards again, after which Sylvia turned into her draconic form, terrifying the soldiers and fleeing the place with Arthur. In the meantime, Eldir reached Cynthia’s room and found her dead, completely shattering the old man. At the end of the chapter, Arthur reached the shore and witnesses the arrival of Alacryans ships with his own eyes.
