Just a few weeks left to go before the game shuts down, Super Mario Maker players have managed to beat all of the game’s courses.
The Last Dance was the final level that was uncleared. However, that actually happened last week. A user going by the name Yamada_SMM2 managed to beat the stage, which took place on March 15.
Things actually took a bit of an anticlimactic turn today. Trimming the Herbs was originally thought to be the final level that wasn’t cleared, but it was achieved via TAS (tool-assisted speedrun). That made The Last Dance the last legitimate stage that needed to be beaten in Super Mario Maker, but again, that took place a few days ago.
There’s been a rush to complete Super Mario Maker as Nintendo will be shutting down online play for it, as well as the rest of the Wii U library, on April 8. The same also goes for 3DS – read more about the situation here and here. Once online is pulled, it won’t be so easy to access uploaded levels. Nintendo disabled level uploading for Super Mario Maker at the end of March 2021.
Players may eventually go through the same situation with Super Mario Maker 2. At least for now though, levels can still be uploaded there and online support is going strong.
