During Sony’s State of Play livestream on January 31, the company gave us a look at developer Shift Up’s third-person character action game Stellar Blade, which looks both cool as shit and ridiculous as hell as you beat up robots in a variety of outfits, including a bunny one because Playboy rabbits also need to defend themselves.
Previously known as “Project Eve,” Stellar Blade follows a warrior named Eve as she attempts to reclaim Earth from alien invaders known as NA:tives. To do so, you’ll outfit Eve with all manner of weapons to pummel your foes into submission while looking stylish AF. That’s what character action games are about, after all: style.
This is an action RPG, of course, so you’ll unlock an assortment of moves to provide combat variety. From a double jump to various grenades, Eve’s arsenal will expand throughout the journey so you can really lay it into those NA:tives.
Over on the PlayStation Blog, game director Kim Hyung Tae talked about Stellar Blade’s story, the preorder bonuses that include some additional accessories and outfits for Eve, and more. But let’s be honest, we’re all here for the fits. That’s the only thing that matters here, right? I mean, Eve is dressed up in everything from a bikini to what looks like a peacock outfit. The getups you can dress the protagonist up in are fire and would make good fit checks on social media sites such as Instagram and Pinterest. Sometimes, you wanna flaunt what you’ve got while you’re fighting. The combat also looks pretty slick.
“This trailer features much of the content that you can experience firsthand in the game,” Tae said. “And is also designed to give you an understanding of the game’s mechanics and how the scenario unfolds, including its core combat.”
Stellar Blade launches on April 26 for PC and will eventually come to PC.
