Steam has officially kicked off Winter Sale 2022, offering discounts on thousands of titles to gamers worldwide. The Winter Sale will run for two weeks until its conclusion on January 5 at 10 am PT.

The Steam Winter Sale makes select games, DLCs, and in-game items more affordable during the gift-giving season. Last week, Steam offered a glimpse of which games would be discounted with a brief trailer. The video featured several AAA titles, like Sonic Frontiers and Persona 5 Royal. Popular indie games, such as the open-world survival game Raft and roguelite Across the Obelisk, were also showcased.

The Steam Winter Sale 2022 is now live on Steam’s home page. In addition to the previously revealed games, numerous award-winning titles are also on sale. Stray, recognized as Best Independent Game and Best Debut Indie Game at The Game Awards this year, has a 20% discount. The Game Awards 2022 Game of the Year, Elden Ring, has a 30% discount. The Narrative Award winner at IndieCade 2022, The Case of the Golden Idol, is currently 15% off.

During the Winter Sale, gamers have the chance to earn new badges and stickers. Just from browsing, users can gain a free winter-themed sticker, such as the Snow Window from Winter Collection 2022. A new sticker will be available for shoppers to redeem every day.

By casting votes for their favorite games in The Steam Awards, community members can earn a random Winter Sale Trading Card. Five nominees are in the running for Game of the Year: Dying Light 2 Stay Human, Elden Ring, Stray, God of War, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. Voting closes on January 3 at 9 am PT and the winners will be announced an hour later at 10 am PT.

While this year’s Winter Sale offers some great deals, a number of gamers have complained that Dark Souls titles are not included in the event. Dark Souls III, released in 2016, remains at its full-price cost of $59.99. Others are celebrating that they can nab FromSoftware’s other dark fantasy, Elden Ring, at a discount.
