Steam Deck now has over 14,000 compatible games

Valve’s Steam Deck has been something of a big deal in the mobile gaming arena. Offering PC-like performance on the go, it’s proved to be a rare instance for the company: a hardware project that’s actually successful. Now, just over two years later, we’re still seeing the results of this success.

According to figures from SteamDB, (as noted by Gaming on Linux), the Steam Deck now sports a total of 14,058 (at the time of writing) titles that are compatible with the system.

Of those, 9,444 are labeled as “Playable,” while 4,614 are down as “Verified.” The former means games should play but may be missing certain things or not be as well optimized. The latter means they should run absolutely tip-top and no mistake.

So, SO many games

If you take the filters out of the search, it shows that 165,119 games reside on Steam currently. That’s…a lot of games, so the Deck still has some way to go. The database also shows that, of those, 3.958 are “Unsupported” when it comes to the device.

This doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t run per se, but you’ll likely encounter issues when playing. In any case, it shows there’s still potential for a lot more games to become compatible.

But as the months and years go by, the Steam Deck sees more competition muscling in on its territory. We’ve already seen ASUS, Lenovo, and MSI offer up their own handheld PC alternatives. At this rate, we could be seeing a saturated market before we know it.
