Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment are promising an expansive open world experience with the upcoming Star Wars Outlaws, which is being billed as the ultimate scoundrel fantasy, and though that will involve a lot of juggling of different criminal syndicates and maintaining your reputation with each different faction, that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to find the time to sit down and, say, play some cards.
In fact, that’s exactly what you’ll be able to do. As revealed recently by its ESRB rating, Star Wars Outlaws will feature playable Sabacc, a popular in-universe card game in Star Wars that has appeared throughout a number of stories, including in 2017’s Solo: A Star Wars Story.
For those unfamiliar, Sabacc is similar to blackjack, and as per the ESRB rating, players will be able to “wager in-game currency on Sabacc” in the game. Incredibly enough, Star Wars Outlaws will be the first Star Wars game to date to feature a playable version of the card game.
Star Wars Outlaws launches on August 30 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Ubisoft has attracted some controversy with the game’s Ultimate Edition– or, specifically, with the fact that a bonus Jabba the Hutt mission is exclusive to the $130 package.
