Space management sim Pixel Starships is expanding its horizons with a new content update and Steam release

Having first launched for iOS and Android back in 2016, Pixel Starships is the immersive, 8-bit, space management sim that’s continued to keep players entertained for 7+ years with its cute retro graphics, in-depth base-building, intense online battles, and endless space exploration.

Much like the universe it recreates, Pixel Starships longevity comes down to its continued expansion thanks to regular developer updates, the latest of which has brought a host of gameplay improvements, new mission content, and more ways to play thanks to a brand new platform launch for Steam and Steamdeck.

As an online game, Pixel Starships features cross-play compatibility with Steam/Mac, Steamdeck, and mobile, so you can play the game on whichever device suits you best. What’s more, you can now also enjoy the perks of a new Supernova Battlepass, as well as play through new storyline missions, utilise new weapon systems (including decoy hangars and decoy drones), and immerse yourself a little more with a new voiceover system.

Along with the brand new content, Pixel Starship is also ushering in several gameplay improvements, such as corrected pathing for homing missiles and Kamikaze crafts, as well as updated calculations to the crew cost formula to include the lowest crew rarity in the purchased pool. Players will also now receive additional support when it comes to the Attack Distance for crafts as well as the Unique Random targeting for weapons.

If you’re yet to try Pixel Starship but fancy yourself as a worthy starship commander, then you can find it available to download for free from the iOS App Store, Google Play Store, and Steam.
